2. Minutes of Previous Meeting

The Minutes of the previous meeting (19th November 2007) were read and accepted.

5. Secretary’s Report

Cathy reported that there are no issues. Any correspondence is passed on to the relevant committee member.

6. Treasurer’s Report

No report submitted. Tim reported that the balance on is approx £3500

7. Membership Secretary’s Report

Cathy reported that membership fees for 2008 are currently being collected.

It was agreed to contact U11s with regard to competing for the coming season as U11s (or U13s if 11th birthday is before 31/8/2008).      

8. Child Welfare Report

No report submitted. Need to ensure that the previous officers name be deleted from any correspondence.

9. Team Managers Report

Tim reported that the turnout for the county champs was good with 13 finishers. Highest finisher was Tyler in 10th. However the entries for the Hampshire and Wessex League were poor with between 2 to 7 turning out.

Schools events were encouraging with Tyler winning the district schools and coming 3rd in the junior county champs. Georgia was 2nd and 9th respectively. Both will be representing Hampshire schools at the inter counties fixture in Essex.

10. Under 11's Group

Pete reported that the group was going well with no problems.

It was agreed to seek a replacement coach when Pete leaves for university later in the year.

11. Coaching Co-Coordinator’s Report

Dave has circulated a number of early season open meetings to athletes.

Any athletes wishing to compete need to let Dave have their email address.

Dave emphasized the need to promote the first league meeting at Bournemouth in April.   

12. Development Plan

Further discussions are being carried out with regard to facilities at Noadswood School. See any other business.

13. Social Secretary’s Report

The skittles evening at Ashlett creek was well supported and enjoyed by all. Cathy said there was a modest profit on the evening. Tim thanked Cathy and Sharon for organising the evening.

It was agreed to hold a barbeque/picnic in the summer.

14. Any Other Business

It was agreed to update coaches details (Coaches licences are currently being updated by UKA).  

It was agreed to update Clubmark folder.

Noadswood School. Following a recent meeting at the school it was agreed to provide a 200/300m training track on the former hockey pitch (next term), high jump will be returned to Hardley School in May, throws cage will eventually be sited at near the long jump. It was also mentioned that the tennis courts will be improved, (possibly including lighting), with the possibility of providing some markings for athletics training (NFJAC are prepared to contribute). The eventual aim is to have an integral athletics facility based at the back of the school.

The NFJAC face book site is a private group not supported or associated by the club.

The club currently has links with many of the local junior schools especially,  Abbotswood, Wildground and Marchwood. A series of taster sessions will be held at Noadswood School early next term. Ringwood and Avon Junior A C are now linked as a satellite to NFJAC. Any aspiring athletes will have the opportunity to compete for the club.  Dave will assist with the coaching wherever possible, especially around Totton.

It was agreed to purchase some water bottles with the NFJAC logo. Also agreed to be purchased are pins, letters and vests.

It was agreed to ensure that any photographs appearing on the website are suitable and have the necessary permission.

It was agreed to contact Gloria with regard to officiating this season.
