Welcome to our latest club newsletter.  We’ll try and keep you up to date and informed of what’s going on in the club, future events, achievements and lots lots more. We’ll publish every month so don’t be too disappointed if something you want published isn’t. Just let us know and we’ll put it in next month.

Welcome to our latest newsletter. Another great news month as the club has completed two league fixtures at Bournemouth and Portsmouth as well as competing in the Hampshire track & field championships at Portsmouth on the 12/13th May.

 

  • Hampshire Championships. Despite only sending a small number of athletes to the championships the club chalked up a record thirteen medals. Emily Shore took silver in the 100m and bronze in the 200m. Team mate Tyler Hole was second in the 200m.

    Hayley Platt secured a silver medal in the long jump. Chrissy Parsons won another three medals with a bronze in the 100m, silver in both the high jump and 200m. Zara Martin took a brace in the hurdles and long jump.

    For the boys there were two medals for James Jordan, one gold in the 200m and a silver in the 1500m. Chris Barton won silver in the 400m and Rory Constable was another gold medallist in the triple jump together with English schools qualification.     • Wessex League. The club took part in its first competition of the season at Bournemouth. The under thirteen girl’s put in some impressive performances with a double win in the 100m. Emily Shore won the A string in 14.6 and Beth Whiting took the B string in 15.8.

      Emily was second in the 200 A in 30.0 and Tyler Hole won the B string in 30.5. Tyler was also successful in the 1200 B string in 4:32.0. Beth being third in the A race in 4:27.7.

      In the 800m Eleanor Gennings was second in the A string in 2:48.9 and Georgia Morris won the B string in 2:52.8. The relay team of Emily, Beth, Tyler and Eleanor also won in 61.4.

    • There was a win in the under fifteen girl’s competition with Sam Parsons taking the B string 100m in 13.9. Hayley Platt was second in the A string in 13.6.

    • The under seventeen women also had a good day with a double first in the 200m. Christina Parsons winning the A string in 26.1 and Chloe Foot the B string in 28.8.

      Christina also had two other wins in the javelin with a throw of 23.60 and a stunning jump of 1.67 in the high jump. The club also had some success in the shot putt with Tina Taplin coming second in the A string throwing 6.82 and Becky Gray winning the A string in 6.75.


    • Match result. Team Southampton 569, Bournemouth 357, Poole AC 288, New Forest Juniors 236 and Weymouth St Paul’s 8.

    New Forest School Sport partnership at www.nfssp.co.uk. Our club is working very closely with with the partnership and hopes to improve our links with all the schools, both Junior and Senior in the New Forest. It’s worth a visit.
