Newsletter of the New Forest Junior Athletic Club
April 2008

Welcome to our latest club newsletter.  We’ll try and keep you up to date and informed of what’s going on in the club, future events, achievements and lots lots more. We’ll publish every month so don’t be too disappointed if something you want published isn’t. Just let us know and we’ll put it in next month.

Welcome to our April newsletter. The Track and Field season has well and truly started with a Wessex League fixture at Bournemouth on the 13th April. Unfortunately we could only field a small team and had to settle for fifth place. However several of our athletes achieved excellent performances. Chrissy even broke the U17 girl’s high jump record jumping 1.71m. Well done Chrissy and to all the other athletes who competed. A special well done to Macadie, Hannah and Ben who competed for the first time

Hardley School.
Don’t forget, training has transferred to Hardley School for the summer term. Training sessions are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30 to 8pm approx.

Ringwood and Avon Junior A.C.
The above training club operates as a satellite of the Juniors. Training is on Wednesday (during term time) at Poulner Junior School., Ringwood. The training is largely aimed at school years 5 and 6. However if anyone wishes to come along you are most welcome. Any of our older athletes who wish to start coaching would also be welcome.

National Young Athletes League.
Please note we have a rearranged match at Salisbury on Sunday May 4th if you wish to compete please let Dave or Tim W know as soon as possible. U13/15 and 17 only.  Salisbury’s track is just behind John Lewis off the ring road. It’s a nice location near the centre of town. Good day out!

Coaching and Officiating.
If any of our older athletes or even parents are interested in getting more involved with the club you would be very welcome. Just let Dave or Tim W know you can start straight away. Courses (coaching or officiating) are normally held locally and paid by the club. We need to provide timekeepers, track and field judges at all our meetings.

That’s All Folks for this month.

New Forest School Sport partnership at www.nfssp.co.uk. Our club is working very closely with with the partnership and hopes to improve our links with all the schools, both Junior and Senior in the New Forest. It’s worth a visit.
