Welcome

Planning permission for the floodlit, all weather multi sport court at the back of the school has been applied for. The club is particularly involved in this proposed facility. Being a community based club, it will greatly improve our ability to deliver the sport in a safe and secure environment. Everyone’s support is vital.

Summer Training
Summer training has started for all groups on the field at Noadswood School. We are able to offer most events, including high jump. You will need to speak to your coach about what you want to concentrate on. We should be able to cater for everyone’s needs. Additional training sessions are also being held on Sunday mornings. All are welcome.

Skittles/Presentation Evening
I hoped everyone enjoyed our club presentation/skittles evening recently. It was the first time the club had such a function. We plan to repeat this every year from now on. A big, big thank you to everyone who kindly donated prizes for the raffle, especially Fawley Power Station for the TV!

Track and Field season
Our track season starts in April with a Wessex league match at Bournemouth on April 26th. The other competition we have entered is the Young Athletes League, where we will compete in Division Two, South West with Havant, Fleet, and Channel Islands. Our matches will be combined with another division, so don’t be too confused if you see other teams at the matches.

Our first match is at Winchester on the 3rd May. Fortunately travelling isn’t as bad as it first appeared. All our Young Athletes League meetings are at either Winchester or Portsmouth. Wessex league matches are at Bournemouth, Eton (very nice venue, worth the journey), Isle of Wight (club’s summer outing) and Winchester.

Also there are some open meetings. Team Southampton is holding evening open meetings each month during the summer. These are particularly recommended as it is a good low key introduction to competing on the track or field.

That’s All Folks

New Forest School Sport partnership at www.nfssp.co.uk. Our club is working very closely with with the partnership and hopes to improve our links with all the schools, both Junior and Senior in the New Forest. It’s worth a visit.
