A fantastic result at Portsmouth for the club this month not only winning the match but in addition, this was our first ever win for a combined boys/girls team.
Hampshire County Championships
With only a few entries this year, medals were few and far between. However the club figured in the medals table with George Hayward winning two silvers in the high jump and javelin and Callum Bigg a bronze, also in the high jump. Second claim athlete Michelle Bigg had triple success in the long jump, hurdles (both silver) and javelin (bronze). Tom Cully took bronze in the county multi events champs. Well done to everyone who took part.
UKA Young Athletes League
We were able to field a bigger team for our second match and reaped a whirlwind of wins in all age groups to win the match. Match result. New Forest 235, Havant 217, Fleet & Crookham 80 and Guernsey/Jersey 0.
New Forest Schools Championships
Awaiting full results from schools. Details next month.
Facilities at Noadswood School
Planning permission for a all weather, floodlit facility has been applied for and the club is confident that it will be granted. This will make our training in the winter months a lot easier and avoid the need to train outside the school. A decision is likely to be made soon.
Wessex Young Athletes League.
Our next match will be at Eton in early June. The facility there is first class and athletes and parents will be assured of a great day out. Try and make if you can you will not be disappointed on the day. I’ll even work on the weather forecast to ensure it’s warm and sunny.
