to everyone.
Hope you enjoyed our revamped March newsletter. This edition heralds the start of the track and field season with a Wessex league match at Bournemouth on Sunday 23rd April. The sprint group have already been stretching their legs at open meetings locally.

Remember we are at Hardley School from Tuesday the 18th April starting at 6:30pm. Well train there also on Thursdays. Sunday sessions will continue at Orchard/Noadswood schools 10:30 till 12.

As previously mentioned our first fixture is at Bournemouth on Sunday 23rd April. If you haven’t been asked yet and wish to compete please contact Dave or myself (Tim). I’m sure we can find a place for you. Remember we have many events to fill, so why not give something else a try, providing you trained for it.

Tiffany Markham and Chrissy Parsons travelled to the Birmingham Indoor Area last week as part of the U15 girl’s Hampshire team in the National Sportshall Final. The Hampshire team were sixth on the day and both girls did well, especially in the standing long jump and two lap relays just missing out on the medals.

Being a predominantly a junior club, road race results do not normally figure within the club. However Sophie Boot, one of our few senior athletes proudly represented the club in the Reading Half Marathon (just over 13 miles) clocking just over two hours (2:03.12). Well done Sophie. Those mile reps around Noadswood/Orchard Schools in the rain on the road certainly helped.

Don’t forget to let me have your results I’m not a mind reader. He’s some I’ve gleaned from AW. Winners unless mentioned otherwise. Portsmouth (2/4/06) Chrissy Parsons 200m 27.4 and 2nd HJ 1.50m. Bournemouth (9/4/06) Zara Martin 300m 44.8.

Definitely the last word on this discipline. Well done to Charlotte Bates who represented the South East at the National Colleges Championships at Loughborough early in April. Despite feeling unwell Charlotte was part of the runners up team that took silver. Again another well done.
