to the November edition of the Junior’s newsletter. The cross country season continues with three fixtures completed at Farley Mount, Goodwood and Newbury. Club members have also been competing in road runs (Boscombe 5k series) and sportshall. Dan and Charlotte (also DAVE and TIM) have turned out for at least one of the Boscombe 5k series.
Zara Martin has been our only participant in the Hampshire Sportshall League. Our U11s haven’t been able to train up until now as the Sportshall at Noadswood has been re-roofed. However all is now complete and Angie no doubt will have plenty trained athletes turning out for the January fixture at Portsmouth.

Our second Hampshire fixture was at Goodwood in early November. For the record, Kelly was 10th in the U17s race, Stephanie 17th and Rachael 18th. We took 4th in the team competition, well done. Charlotte was 8th in the U20s race. Only two U15s turned out with Stephanie 32nd and Jess 44th. Unfortunately we had no U13s available. However at Newbury on 26th November we were able to turn out three teams. Kelly again had a good run finishing 8th with Rachael 17th and Stephanie 18th. Stephanie was first home in the U15s in 23rd; Amelia was 30th and Jess 37th.
Fortunately we had an U13s team this time with Harriet 14th and new girls Tyler 21st and Jess 28th. It’s the schools cross country champs at Gang Warily on Thursday. No doubt several of our members will be hoping to go forward to represent the New Forest at the Hampshire Schools champs early next year.

Club members helped run the primary schools champs at Applemore on the 25th November. It was won by Abbotswood with Blackfield second. Big thanks to those who helped and a very well done to all the children who participated.
The Sportshall is now available and Angie and her team will be eager to catch up with the sportshall programme as our numbers will no doubt increase again. |
