Most of the Juniors found Staunton Park’s difficult course not to their liking and were pleased just to finish the race. (Saturday 7th January 2006)

Highest place finisher in the under thirteen girl’s was Michelle Powell in 19th (17:26), Stephanie Smallwood was 27th (18:43) with Harriet Hall 28th (19:24).

The under fifteen girls were hoping for a top three team finish. However it was not to be on the day with Alice Cole in 16th place (21:14) followed by Kelly Way 21st (21:50), Becky Knell 32nd (23:24), Amelia Faulkner-White 36th (24:58), Rachael Smallwood 43rd (27:24) and Jessica Martin 44th (27:45).

Charlotte Bates in the under seventeen women’s race was the Junior’s best finisher in 6th place (29:48). Laura Vine was 32nd (38:19) and Nicola Wells 34th (40:09). Charlotte’s finish should give her a place in Hampshire’s team to run at Nottingham at the Inter Counties fixture in March

Dan Powell was 36th (20:15) in the under fifteen boy’s race.

The Juniors continue their cross country season with a Hampshire League fixture at Reading on Saturday 14th January.
