News - Wessex Young Athletes League - June 18th 2006
The Juniors travelled over to the Isle of Wight for their second Wessex Young Athletes League fixture of the season. Despite accumulating an impressive 294 points, they had to settle for fifth place on the day as many of the other clubs were able to turn out many more athletes and thus pile up the points throughout the age groups.

It was the under fifteen girl sprinters in the club who took the honours with wins for Zara Martin (12.2s) in the 75m hurdles. Chrissy Parsons won the B string race in 13.1s. Chrissy went on to win the 200m (27.0s) and high jump (1.55m). Ailsa Roberts won the 200 B race in 28.6s and was just second in the 100m (13.7). Hayley Platt took the honours in the B long jump (4.05m). To cap a great day Chrissy, Ailsa, Hayley and Emma Hoare won the 4x100m relay in 53.6

In the under seventeen women’s 200m Chloe Foot won in 28.5s. For the boys there was a win for James Jordan in the under thirteen’s 800m A race in 2:29.7.
