The Juniors just managed to hang on to third place at Southampton’s Sports Centre on Sunday 3rd June for their third UKA Young Athletes League meeting of the season.
With only a small team available the Juniors were pleased to settle for 345.5 points in ideal conditions.
Performance of the day for the Juniors was from Rory Constable in the under seventeen’s men’s triple jump with a winning jump of 13.67m.
In the under thirteen girl’s competition, Tyler Hole won the 800m in 2:41.1 and long jump B (3.71). Emily Shore won the 150m B race in 21.6s and long jump B with 3.83m. Emily Shore was another one having a great season with a win in the 75m (11.2). Eli Gennings won the 800m B race in 2:53.8.
For the under fifteen girls, there was only one winner, Marie Atkinson in the javelin B with a throw of 13.76m.
The under seventeen women continued to have several wins. Emma Hoare took the 200m B in 29.4s and 100m B in 14.9s. Zara Martin had a brace of wins in the 80m hurdles (13.2s) and long jump (4.69). Kelly Way took the 1500m in fine style holding off a determined Team Dorset challenge at the finish in 5:39.4.
The relay team of Kelly, Zara, Emma and Ailsa Roberts won the 4x100m relay.
