The Juniors again travelled over to Portsmouth on Sunday 20th May for their second UKA Young Athletes League meeting of the season. The Juniors again were delighted to finish third with 366 points.
In the under thirteen girl’s competition, Tyler Hole won the 150m in 21.2s and the 800m in 2:39.7s. Emily Shore won the 150m B race in 21.6s and long jump B with 3.83m. In the boy’s competition James Jordan won both the 200m (27.6) and 1500m (5:06.1).
For the under fifteen girls, there were wins for Hayley Platt in the long jump (4.82m) and Chris Barton won the 200m B boys race in 27.3s and Marcus Smith threw 24.71m to win the discus.
The under seventeen women had yet another good day with a treble of wins for Zara Martin in the long jump (5.01m), 80m hurdles (13.1m) and the 300m B (46.1). Rosie Cooper had two wins in the 300m (45.6) and High Jump B (1.35m). Jess Martin won the 3000m B in 14.58s. Rachel Smallwood won the 1500m B in 6:10.4s. The main honours of the day however went to Chrissy Parsons jumping 1.66m in winning the high jump. She also took the female athlete of the match award. The relay team of Chrissy, Zara, Rosie and Ailsa Roberts won the 4x100m relay in 52.6s.
