The Juniors travelled to Salisbury on Sunday 4th May for their first Division Two (South West) League match of the season. Despite some rain, conditions were ideal for good performances by the Juniors, both on the track and in the field.  

In the under thirteen girl’s age group, there were a hit trick of wins for Tyler Hole in the 75m (10.7s), 150m (19.9s) and long jump (3.98m). Eli Gennings was first in the “B” 75m (22.5s) and was second in both the 70m hurdles (16.1s) and “B” 800m (2:49.9s). Georgia Morris had a string of second places in the 800m (2:45.0), “B” 150m (22.5s) and the “B” shot putt (4.86m). Hannah Leigh was second in the “A” shot putt (5.50m). The boys, in the same age group had several good wins. Freddie Leigh recorded three wins in the 1500m (5:13.3), high jump (1.25m) and the long jump (3.84m). Max Leigh won the “B” long jump (3.51) and was second in the “B” 100m (15.6s). George Hayward was first in the “B” high jump (1.05) and second in the 100m (14.4s).

Sam Parsons in the under fifteen girl’s age group had two fine wins in the 100m (13.5s) and 200m (28.1s).

Christina Parsons was in sparkling form, with wins in the under seventeen women’s competition in the shot putt (9.99m) and 80m hurdles (12.3s). However she had to settle for second in the 100m with a time of 12.7s. Hayley Platt was first in the “B” 100m (13.9) and second in the long jump (4.46m). Marie Atkinson won the “B” shot putt (6.41m) and took second in the javelin (16.65m). Graham Nelson had two fine wins in the under seventeen’s men’s age group. Graham was first in the 800m (2:12.6s), 400m (57.7s) and second in the shot putt (6.96m). Chris Barton was first in the “B” 800m (2:19.4), “B” 400m (58.1m) and second in the “B” shot putt (6.24m).
