UKA Young Athletes League (Southern Two-South West) Sunday 8th May
Several of the Juniors recorded good wins in the first Young Athletes meeting of the season at a wet and windy Portsmouth track on Sunday 8th May hosted by Havant AC.
In the under thirteen girl’s, Emily Radjen in her first competition took both sprints in style, winning the 75m in 10.7secs and the 150m in 21.3secs.
Alice Cole maintained her recent winning ways with an emphatic win in the under fifteen girl’s 800m with a time of 5:25.0. Team mate Rachael Smallwood took the “B” race in 6:01.8. Zara Martin took the honours in the “B” long jump with a jump of 4.10m. Chloe Foot was fourth in the “A” long jump (4.16m).
Susan Roberts won the under seventeen women’s 100m in 13.1 with Hazel Feary winning the “B” race (14.0). Charlotte Bates turned her attention to the 3000m and despite some early pressure won easily in 11:26.7.

Wins at premium for New Forest

Points were hard to come by for New Forest Juniors' small band of athletes in the National Junior League meeting at Basingstoke, (May 22).
However, there were wins in the women's match for Fern Parker (400m, 60.3) and Sasha Mucci (1500m, 5.02.4), while Susan Roberts came second in the 100m (13.8).
In the men's match, Jamille Hogg emerged triumphant in the B 400m (53.3) and Pritpal Chana was first over 200m (23.8) and second in the A 400m (51.1).
